Thursdays special

This was by far the best dish I had in Rome. Gnocchi in general is one of my favorites and I´ve had a couple in my life so I think I can say that Trattoria dal cavalier Ginos gnocchi are the best I have ever had! I don’t understand why I didnt order one more serving, no shame! :D How to describe it.. light as a cotton wool it almost bursts in your mouth! Many gnocchi have to dense dough texture to them which can get stuck in your mouth but not these. And here comes the beauty of simplicity, subtle sweet and sour taste of tomato and basil sauce leaves you to taste and enjoy each ingredient and admire the chef’s masterwork. Love it!

Dont you love autumn sun?!

We have spent the morning wandering between Piazza del Popolo, Spanish steps and gardens of Villa Borghese. I love this part of Rome, it offers great views of the city and maybe the best icecream that I had in Rome! One place is on the top of the Spanish steps to the left and the other one is below the steps to the left where I could finally find malaga flavor. As you can imagine we have spent some time here :D

Ristorante Sora Lucia…taste of my childhood!

There is always a line in front of this place, nothing fancy about it but it has a very cozy home like feel to it. Pasta fagioli was my first course and it tasted just like my grandmothers, so comforting! And when you think about it, what are the odds?! It blew my mind! For the next course I had osso buco with side of potatoes which tasted just like my father used to prepare it. This brought up many memories! I have to ask my mamma for the recipe so that I can make it myself. We finished with a tiramisu, even though none of us drinks coffee and I understand why people love it but I on the other hand went straight to gellateria afterwards. Thats just me ;)
