Kotraza

A couple of weeks ago I went with my grandparents to visit my grandmothers sister and her family. They live in Kotraza, which is close to Cacak (south Serbia). Last time I was there was many years ago, I think I was still in elementary school.

I did remember quite a bit, mostly houses and the front courtyard…

When we arrived the weather was gloomy, it had just stopped raining…

...so I went for a quick walk in the back courtyard…

...took pictures of my cousin.

Can you spot the chicken?!

This autumn has been unusually warm in Serbia so the trees have kept their beautiful leaves on for longer. Which I am grateful for, since I love the autumn!

In traditional types of households food is prepared in a wood oven which makes the food taste 1000 times better. I was so excited for every meal :D

Just before our lunch the pigs got theirs...

...while this kitty was trying to distract...

Then it was food time.

Serbian cornbread-proja. I am always making it with yellow cornflour but now I’ve learned that it tastes better with the white cornflour.

Homemade clotted cream-maybe my favourite!
