My favourite kind of exercise - power walks in beautiful “foresty”
area. Since I don’t really like to work out, focus
demanding traditional gym/follow a training program type of exercise is
not for me. I have to be able to think on other, fun things, and take
pictures :) while burning calories so walking is perfect.

First thing we did when we arrived was to jump into the sea and relax on the beach. After a couple of weeks of walking this was much needed!

Dead Sea was an experience! I love to swim, go under water...so to have to lie on my back and be very careful so that I don’t get any water in my mouth or in my eyes, which...I got both and it wasn’t pleasant, it was not for me, I am too impatient! :D Dead Sea mud however felt great, after only ca 15min my skin was silky smooth. I bought some products with Dead Sea minerals to try out...it will be interesting!

I don’t like to go on guided tours for many reasons but this time it was just most convenient and a lot cheaper. The fact that it was a smaller group made it less painful :) Our guide was very charming, she even sang on Hebrew. Hearing the story about Masada, knowing the more recent history and after getting to talk to some of the Israelis I got a feel of a very proud nation who sticks together.

I was so excited to visit this market and so we ended up with quite a few bags carrying around! Bourekas was my first choice, warm and cheese with spinach, very similar to the serbish pita. Rugelach was another thing we tried, it looks like a chocolate croissant but it not as flaky, V loved it!

On Sabbath everything is closed, restaurants open one hour after sunset and since night falls very quickly in this part of the world we didn’t have to wait for too long for dinner. Restaurant is in a very cosy, quiet residential area and it has a lovely garden. Whenever we travel to the south parts I try to eat as much fruits and vegetables as possible, because in these northern parts where we live they never really get as tasty. So honey dressed salad was my favourite!

I love this place, it has great view of Jaffa gate and the city. Its location makes it a perfect stop for in between sightseeing. We enjoyed shakshouka with eggplant (looove eggplant!) and for desert apple cinnamon crumble with vanilla ice cream which was huge, but I didn’t get disheartened :D

All the different languages, religions, cultures, traditions...Jerusalem is a very unique city. Just walking the streets you understand the turbulent history of it. I am not really religious so to see people who devote their lives to religion is fascinating to me.
